Turn the shoes over, and each one has three bands across the tip of the sole, one of "too big," one for "too small" and one for "fit zone" (not quite the same ring as "just right," but we'll let them go with the name of the shoe). Place your kid's heel against the "place heel here" marker at the other end of the shoe (natch), and see where their toes fall for fail-safe sizing.
